“You’re off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting,
So… get on your way!”
Yes, we’re all fired up!
Athletes who have completed their main races for the year, are already starting to come back after a short rest break.
Their enthusiasm, positivity and desire is infectious.
They’ve tasted glory and they want more.
And so do I!
“Raring to go”
“I’m fired up, fire up the engines!”
Bigger races. Amplified goals. Greater expectations. Stronger enthusiasm.
New Short-Term Objectives
They’ll be returning to pre-season with some specific areas to focus on.
- Improve power.
- Work on gym strength.
- Run faster.
- Develop swim technique.
- Become more robust.
We’ll design some specific programmes to meet the individual pre-season needs of the athletes.
Completer to Competitor
Some of our first time Ironman athletes and Ironman 70.3 athletes are returning to training as ‘completers’. Having had some discussions, we’re now looking to transform that mindset from completer to competitor. See how far we can push, how much we can knock off, how high up the race fields we can get and how quick we can go. Project 2024 is go!
‘Lessons Learned’
Athletes are also returning to training with a greater understanding and an improved focus on what needs to be done. We are identifying what they can improve on, what tweaks we can make to their programmes this year and what they need to work on ahead of next year.
Feeling super motivated, we’ll finish with another favourite quote / lyric of mine …
“Feeling my way through the darkness
Guided by a beating heart
I can’t tell where the journey will end
But I know where to start”
Fired up indeed!
