Training Plan: “What Is This Magic?”

If you thought a training plan, customised to the athlete, to help them reach their goals wasn’t really coaching, was ‘just a training plan’, something they could do for themselves (or even follow one from a book or magazine) have a look at this message from one of our ‘Training Plan Athletes’.

To me, confirmed by the message below, the Training Plan …

  • Provides accountability
  • Fires up the motivation
  • Gives an athlete structure specific to them and their own life
  • Sparks enthusiasm and eagerness

This athlete took the time out to message me, giving some really positive feedback. The message comes from an athlete who asked me to develop a plan for him to help him race his first Ironman 70.3 next year.

The Message

Oh, this sounds good.

Accountability and improved discipline driving great consistency.

A magic spell has been cast over this athlete, it appears. The personalised Training Plan – and the associated benefits that brings – is also having a positive impact on his life. Magic indeed!

Thoughts …

So much to like about this message.

There is nothing better than an athlete who has discipline to get the sessions done, enthusiasm to bring to training, energy to execute the sessions and then still be productive in the day ahead.

Full credit to this athlete for his positive mindset and taking on the training with such enthusiasm. Never underestimate the power of personalised coaching or of a training plan that is designed specifically for the athlete.

In this athletes own words …

“What is this magic that is happening?! Long may it continue!”
