Triathlon season gets underway!
What a day!
The Epic Events West Lancs Spring Triathlon seems to have become the official start of the triathlon season for many of our athletes. It serves as a main goal and a very first triathlon for some of our developing swimmers, and a ‘see where we’re at’ race for others.
This weekend was no different. We had so many swimmers and athletes out on the course.
Four things I particularly enjoyed …
The Energy & The Camaraderie Of The Team
“You could literally feel it in the air how much everyone was supporting everyone else and that we were all in this together – one team. Had a little moment thinking – this is why I do it.”
“Great seeing so many swim squad members even from multiple tri clubs. 😀”
“All credit to your coaching and swim squad energy 🥰”
“The bigger team plays a very big part in such an individual sport.”
“Great effort all, boss day out and great to see soo many👊🏼🩵🥳 and super great to all those volunteering! 🙌🏽”

The Amazing Support From Our Squad To Their Team Mates, Lane Mates, Friends
“I LOVED seeing everyone and was very happy to come early and cheer for Swim Squad and MT gang.”
“Well done everyone, was nice to keep bumping into people for a catch up. Also thanks to Jan and Tash for volunteering 💪”
“Brilliant day and great to see lots of the squad all supporting each other. 👊”
“Great day! Everyone – no matter the tri club – were brought together by Swim Squad and that team on the day won! Support was brilliant.”

So Many Athletes Racing!
Fifteen of our current Swim Squad swimmers racing, nine coached athletes, multiple athletes who have previously been a part of the Swim Squad or have had swim 1-1s.
“So many swimmers from so many different triathlon clubs!”

And Then The Performances!
Athletes finishing their first ever triathlon, athletes smashing personal bests, athletes racing strong and then three athletes in the overall female top 10.
What a day!
