What a week!

Quite a week last week. Some of the highlights from our coached athletes include …

1️⃣ Helen hits some fast paces on her 10 x 2’ session as well as loving her 1 hour 40 minute long run.

2️⃣ Lee runs 4 x 8’ efforts at exactly the same run pace for each one! Super control.

3️⃣ Brian rides outdoors for the first time this year and smashes his Strava segment PB’s!

4️⃣ Phil runs some well paced 6 x 4’ race pace efforts early in the week and surprises himself with his 2 x 20’ race pace efforts this weekend.

5️⃣ Josh makes the sweetspot 20’s look easy and then gets stronger throughout his 20 x 1’ strength efforts on the bike.

6️⃣ Angela had a great run week, executing her 6×3’ efforts strongly, followed by some solid 10’ tempo efforts this weekend (3 x 10’).

7️⃣ After a week off with the lurgy, Chris made a strong return to training this weekend.

8️⃣ Kathryn is coming to the end of a really tough VO2 Max block and is pushing some big power numbers!

9️⃣ Joanne had a fantastic long run this weekend, changing speed on the building pace run with ease.

🔟 Garry took more than 1 minute off his best ever 5k time AND increased his bike FTP by more than 30 watts!

1️⃣1️⃣ Owain returned to training after a period of illness with a bang! 2 x 20’ efforts at 4.20 min/k pace, followed by a solid 3 hour ride the next day.

1️⃣2️⃣ James is making it all look easy. The week included his longest ever ride (4 hours), a brick session, some really quick tempo running and solid strength work on the bike.

1️⃣3️⃣ Mandy is getting stronger by the week! The 10×3’ @ FTP, the 10’ tempo efforts, the ‘strong finish’ to the long ride – all brilliantly executed abs going in the right direction.

1️⃣4️⃣ Helen is putting solid week on top of solid week. This week saw her complete her longest bike ride of the year.

1️⃣5️⃣ David is the model of consistency. It’s paying off too. A new FTP (30w higher than the previous) is his reward this week.

1️⃣6️⃣ Luke is a workhorse. Always pushing. His highlight this week was a new FTP – 30+ watts higher than his previous best.

1️⃣7️⃣ Alan had a big endurance-focussed week this week. A double run day, multiple outdoor endurance rides plus his longest ride AND longest run of the year.

1️⃣8️⃣ Peter is returning from a long-term run injury, but managed to run brilliantly this week! Some real progress here.

1️⃣9️⃣ Angela is really developing her cycling – and has worked really hard over the past few months – this week was a much deserved rest week.

2️⃣0️⃣ Jon does his longest ride for eighteen months as he passes the four hour mark, signalling the switch to race mode.

What a week for most of the team. Some really great progress this week – on top of the consistent progress they’ve been making over the past few months. I just couldn’t resist highlighting some of the efforts / achievements this week.
