Coming up this week …
We continue with our technique development in our Swim Squads this week.
The Tuesday group are 9 weeks into their technique phase. We have covered a lot of ground and the squad have already improved their swim technique and their technique awareness. This week we will recap a few technique points that we’ve covered recently and then we’re going to ‘put it all together’.
Our Wednesday group is in to week 5 now. Last week we looked at the reach and the catch – with many swimmers making great improvements to this aspect of their technique. This week we’re going to progress this and look at the catch and then the pull – as we start to look at propulsion and moving quicker through the water.
The WRC Tri squad are now into week 4. Last week was all about hand entry, hand extension and the reach. This had a great impact on some swimmers, lengthening their stroke and making swimming ‘feel easier’. This week we’re going to look at the reach and then the catch.
This week also sees the first of our ‘Technique Refresher Sessions’. These are bonus sessions where a swimmer can drop in and recap on some of the technique work we’ve been doing. I’m expecting a small group for this so we can delve a bit deeper into their technique. These sessions are included in the monthly fee – so there is no extra charge for this.
Also this week is a fair few 1-1 sessions with swimmers, working on individual aspects of technique and helping them fast track their improvements.
Lots to look forward to and lots of potential speed and efficiency to be released!
