“I’ll Take Them”

Kaboom!!

From worried about the swim cut off to swimming a 1.21 for an Ironman swim!

Amazing swimming today at Ironman Barcelona from an athlete I’ve been supporting with his swim development.

In July, I posted some 1-1 swim session dates. Within minutes I had a response. “I’ll take them” was the message. “Which date do you want?” I asked. “All of them” came the reply.

This swimmer was genuinely worried about swimming 3.8k and making the cut off. He was new to swimming and struggled with pace and distance.

We made some technique changes, focusing on body position and pull (length and power). We played around with stroke rate, breathing, head position and then pacing. We worked on swim confidence and open water skills too.

Seven sessions later, many new PB’s set, here we are.

A 1.21 Ironman swim.

In the sea.

Amazing swimming!
