Swim Squad Season Review: An Epic Year!

The finish of the Dublin Marathon last week marked the end of the 2022/33 season for my coached athletes.

Wow!

What a season!!

It’s been so, so good.

Big Distances

Our athletes took on the biggest and best endurance events in the world. A lot of training, effort and sacrifice went into these events – and our athletes have the medals, pictures and memories to show for their efforts. These events included Ironman triathlons, marathon runs, English Channel swims, long distance (marathon) swims.

First Times

In amongst the achievements, we had lots of firsts …

  • First time Ironman crossing finishing lines.
  • First time marathon finishes.
  • First triathlons completed.

Amazing Performances

Athletes surpassed their own expectations …

  • Lifetime best performances achieved.
  • GB Age Group teams made.
  • World Championships qualified for.
  • Barriers and perceived limits broken.
  • Taken performance levels up a level.
  • Goals smashed.

What It Meant

Emotions ran high from all of us …

  • Tears of joy from athletes
  • Immense pride from coach, athlete, family and friends
  • Renewed belief about future goals and performances
  • Future ambitions have been recalibrated and amplified.

I couldn’t be happier how the season has gone for so many athletes.

Well done to everybody who has trusted us, worked with us and been on the journey with us this year! You deserve your success!

Swim Squad Season Review: Ironman UK

That’s a race list, isn’t it? That’s the races from all of our coached athletes. It doesn’t include the many other races that our Swim Squad swimmers entered and performed brilliantly in.

Amazing.

Well done again to everybody who worked with us during the 2022/23 season. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Can’t wait to see what 2023/24 season brings us!
