Thursday Technique Tips. Notice anything in this picture? Any good technique points you can adopt? Some great body position tips for us all here.
🏊♂️ Let’s start with the toes. Pointed. Better for body position and streamline in the water.
🏊♂️ Legs. Together. Not splitting the legs to ‘keep balance’.
🏊♂️ Everything in line. Swimming ‘narrow’.
🏊♂️ Head. Low in the water.
🏊♂️ Breathing. Not turning too much to breathe. One goggle still in the water.
🏊♂️ Leading arm. Straight out in front. Hasn’t dropped or started the catch and pull too early.
🏊♂️ Fingers. Below the wrists. Ready to start the catch phase.
🏊♂️ Body position. Rotated. A little. Not swimming flat in the water and not rotating too much. Everything in line and near the surface of the water.
🏊♂️ Although only 5’ 8”, a long stroke from toes to fingertips, swimming tall in the water. Toes on the left foot to fingertips on the left hand couldn’t stretch out any more.

I hope that helps you visualise some of the key aspects of a solid technique.
