Triathlon Swim Coaching
We started Triathlon Swim Squad in 2019 to help athletes improve their swimming.
It began with a single Swim Squad session, once per week. Since then, we have developed a range of services to support you on you swim improvement journey.
Swim Squad
The Swim Squad is a group swim programme, designed and delivered to improve your technique and develop your speed. We will build your endurance and fine tune your open water skills.
The squad has periodised swim training – with different phases throughout the year to help you get the very best out of your swim training.
Places are very limited. Contact us to discuss availability.
Swim Technique Sessions
We have been running our weekly technique-focused sessions since February 2023 – and we have had some great success! Swimmers have really progressed and gone on to achieve great things.
Swim 1-1s
Supporting swimmers with their swim technique to improve efficiency, develop speed and maximise their swim progress.

Open Water Group Sessions
Taking the Swim Squad to the open water! Group sessions focused on strong swimming, including race pace and race execution, with some technique and open water skills too. Sessions are also available for inexperienced open water swimmers.

Open Water 1-1 Sessions
Working with experienced and inexperienced open water swimmers and triathletes, from improving technique to refining race day skills.

Swim Training Plans
I can design a swim training plan to fit your own specific needs – from developing swim fitness, to training for a long distance swim, to improving your swim times. Below are some examples of the types of swim plan I’ve done previously.

Open Water Skills Guide
We’ve been running open water skills sessions with triathletes and open water swimmers for the past four or five years. During that time, we’ve seen hundreds of different athletes come to our group sessions, based at the Liverpool Watersports Centre.
Swimmers come to the sessions for very different reasons:
- Improve their confidence in open water
- Swim with others in a group
- Learn new skills
- Prepare for race day
- Meet up with their friends
These swimmers have gone on to have great success in their triathlon swims or open water swim events.

We’ve produced this Open Water Skills Guide to further help the swimmers who come to our group sessions – and to reach out to those who cannot attend. In the Guide, we cover topics such as:
- Developing Confidence
- Sighting
- Turn Buoys
- Drafting
- Race Day Anxiety & Pacing
- Other Tips
We hope it’s a useful tool in your quest to be a better open water swimmer / triathlete.
