The Questionnaire
Firstly, the questionnaire. If you can complete the questionnaire and send it back to me, I can start the planning process. The more detail you can include, the more personalised the plan is to you and your current circumstances.
Completing The Questionnaire
A couple of key things to think about …
Goals
What do you want to achieve next year?
- Is it to finish an event?
- Is it a time goal?
- Is it to enjoy yourself?
- Is it to gain experience for future years?
- Is it to be fit enough to complete a number of different events during the year?
Have a good think about this and put your thoughts down on the questionnaire.
Key Races
Linked to the point above, which races are your key races next year? Some races are more important than others – so let’s build the plan around these races.
Time
How much time do you have available to train in an average week?
I could write a beautiful training plan that requires 10 hours per week training time – but if you only have six hours to train most weeks, it’s actually a rubbish plan and not the right one for you!
If time available to train is not really limited and not an issue, how much time do you want to spend training? Every day of the week sounds great, but that’s every day for 6-9 months. Does that fit your lifestyle? Give it some thought.
Issues / Injuries
Do you have any issues that I need to be aware of? For example, have you had any recurring injuries in the past? Has anything worked particularly well for you in the past – or conversely, anything that you don’t like / causes issues.
