You wouldn’t believe how much time I have spent thinking about Christmas-themed swim sessions!
We have our favourite Die Hard 25s, the eternally confusing but super satisfying Christmas Tree set and the 12 Days of Christmas that we use in our Swim Squads each year.
Recently, I thought about one based (very loosely) on A Christmas Carol.
The four ghosts, all heaping more and more misery on our main character, followed by a celebration when he realises the error of his ways and vows to turn his life around at the end.
We could have a set where our swimmer is visited by the Ghost of Jacob Marley – perhaps in the form of a 300m swim? This is quickly followed by the Ghost of Christmas Past (400m), the Ghost of Christmas Present (500m) and then the Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come (600m).
(Or if distance isn’t your thing, perhaps replace the 300m swim with 3 x 100m, the 400m with 4 x 100m, the 500m with 5 x 100m and the 600m with 6 x 100m?)
We then realise the error of our ways, come to our senses and then swim loads of celebratory 25s.
What do you reckon?!
😀
